Making daydreams come true…
The idea of Visualising what you want as a precursor to it becoming a reality is not new. I certainly was aware of the concept fifty-odd years ago. However, it keeps raising its head, and indeed was the subject of a programme on BBC Radio 4 a couple of days ago.
However, first of all, we should get straight what we mean by Visualising, or Visualisation. To me, it means daydreaming about; manifesting; positive thinking, and even praying for. Yes, even praying for.
To me, thought is power… the power of thought… positive thing… It has to be better than negative thoughts, or not?
I have read that top sports people are told to spend time visualising holding the winning cup. This means that you have to be able to think in pictures, I suppose. I find that very difficult. I think in words. So, if you asked me to imagine holding a trophy cup aloft, I would read the words from a screen in my head.
This doesn’t affect my memory, which is excellent. It’s just that there are no pictures in it. It’s strange though, because when I dream, which is nightly, I see a film running. Then when I wake up, I have a transcript in my head.
Therefore, I think that Visualising will never work for me. However, I do believe that it would be useful to others.
Visualising a Powerful Thought
The ability to hold a thought, to concentrate intensely, is another but related, matter. I think that this is a very powerful trick that most people could use, if they knew that it existed. Thank God that most people don’t.
Holding a thought is similar to meditation and prayer and… thought is power! It is just not so easy to do without training. And again, thank God!
Witches – Thinkers
I think that women are better at it than men. Women seem to hold a grudge longer too, which is like holding a thought. I believe that in the past, women who excelled in holding a thought (not necessarily a grudge) were feared as witches, and that that was why they were persecuted and murdered.
Don’t forget that they were not called withes in their villages, they were the Wise Women – the Shaman
I have had witches in my family… They were good people, just not to be messed with. I don’t know how they achieve their goals, but I suspect that Visualising a result plays a part in it.
Best wishes,
Owen
