The impossible dream?
I don’t know whether cholesterol free is a valid expression to be honest. Is it feasible? However, a fact is that most people have become more aware of their cholesterol levels over the last twenty years.
The result of this introspection has been to try to lower our cholesterol levels by regulating the food we eat. There is actually a lot of confusion about how to tackle this fairly modern problem, The two camps boil down to the Atkins type diet, which means eating ‘all’ the fat you want, and the ‘fat free’ alternative, which advocates the complete opposite.
Still, that’s capitalist marketing for you – you will not get any real help from industry, or the government, which is run by industrialists or shareholders in those sectors. You’re on your own, and ‘you pays your money and makes your choice’.
May God, or your intuition, guide you 🙂
However, fashions change and that goes the same for food. I remember a government minister, Edwina Curry, telling the nation to ‘go to work on an egg’. I remember that a few years later, we were told not to, because of the amount of cholesterol in an egg! Apparently, only two or three eggs a week were safe. Nowadays, we are told that eggs contain ‘good’ cholesterol and that Edwina’s original advice was correct! You can eat more or less as many as you want!
If the ‘experts’ don’t know what’s going on, how the Hell are we supposed to?
Perhaps, the real experts are not being given a chance to speak, but the industry salespeople are?
Or perhaps, these people just don’t know what they’re talking about.
In any case, it is obvious that one’s cholesterol level is a serious concern, so if you would like to hear my articles on the subject of cholesterol concerns totally free of charge, you can download a free copy of my ebook: ‘Foods that Lower Cholesterol’ from Audible on this link:
