This section of the blog, consists of my rants about what I’ve heard in the media. Please join in by leaving a comment. I promise that I will reply to all of them.
Sometimes, I feel so ignored, don’t you?
I may be listening to a radio programme, for example, and want to comment, but find that it’s a repeat! Or, that first, I have to register, accept cookies, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah!
These stations – including the BBC… in fact, especially the BBC – don’t really want our comments.
Well, I want them on this blog, The Amiable Dragon. I don’t care whether your rants, or my rants, are about something that was said a few days ago. We do need to keep it fairly current though.
Politics
Politics, The Environment and the economy are always good topics to complain about. British politics really stinks now. It’s beyond me how anyone can not blame the Party that has been in continuous power for twelve years for the mess that the UK and the British public are in. If you listen to the Tories, they will try to convince you that the old cadre in the Party was to blame for any wrong-doing, and that the ‘new’ politicians are of better quality.
The only snag with this is that it’s untrue – in fact, it’s a downright lie! It’s the same people, exactly the same people as before but in different jobs!
And now the bloody bankers are at it again!
For crying out loud! We rescued them once, and they’ve gone and done it again!
Let’s nationalise the lot of them and be done with the idiots! They live in luxury at our expense, but can’t keep the own houses in order, so they don’t deserve them.
If you are starting to come to the conclusion that the BBC is no longer as unbiased as it was, as I did a few months ago, I have a suggestion. Try the LBC.
LBC on Global Player
The BBC is just a government mouthpiece now. Didi you hear about the Gary Lineker debacle? Well, this football commentator was taken off air and threatened with the sack, because he Tweeted a political opinion on his own private Twitter account. I cannot believe that the head of the BBC, a Tory Party donor, actually demanded an apology because Lineker’s opinion might upset Tory right-wingers!
Have you ever heard of such a thing?
My Rants
I’ve left the BBC after fifty years, and get my news from various broadcasters on LBC, now. I like a few of them, especially Nick Abbot. Give them a try on London Broadcasting Company.
Please, also quote your source as best as possible to give us a reference point.
Whatever you say in your rant, is your responsibility, as is anything that I say in my rants 🙂
Best wishes,
Owen
